Teelin Irish Dance Company is known for performances that accentuate the energy of Irish dance with envelope-pushing choreography. There are three troupes of the company, each comprised of dancers who have been auditioned from the Teelin School of Irish Dance. Performances may include dancers from a single troupe, or from multiple troupes, and may also include other professional artists. The versatility of a performance company that is separate from yet associated with an Irish dance school allows for a wide variety of entertainment possibilities.
Director Maureen Gately has extensive training in several dance styles, which enhance her mastery of traditional Irish step dance. Maureen’s experience as a professional dance performer has inspired her to explore creative choreography, thereby eliciting in her dancers a passion for performing. This innovative style also won her the 2009 Individual Artist Award for Dance Choreography presented by the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC).

Other highlights include featured performances at the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage in DC, Turning Stone Resort and Casino in NY, the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, the main stage of the Maryland Irish Festival, and repeat invitations to perform at the Congressional Country Club. Teelin Irish Dance Company has also performed with Governor Martin O'Malley, with Gaelic Storm (from the hit movie "Titanic"), with Eileen Ivers (fiddler from Riverdance), and with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble.
