CLASS CARD CLASSES

These “drop-in” style classes are a great way for students to boost their skill level with extra dance practice opportunities throughout the school year!  Class Card classes are optional for Teelin students, and may not substitute a regular class.

A Class Card of 5 classes may be purchased for $75, and is valid for any of the Class Card classes offered during the current school year, September 2008 – June 2009.  Cards may be purchased from the instructor, or from the 2008-09 Registration Form.  One dancer per card, no class make-ups.

All Class Card classes are held at the Columbia studio.  Each class or workshop is one punch on a Teelin Class Card, or a $17 drop-in fee.  Card must be punched at time of class, or drop-in fee paid.

Classes will be offered on selected weekends throughout the school year. The schedule is posted below, and class descriptions are listed underneath. For specific questions, please call Maureen at 443-629-7808.

You may print the schedule to post conveniently at home!  But remember to check here for updates...

ADVANCED SOFT SHOE – Recommended for Levels 4-5, or Prizewinner through Champion level competitors.

ADVANCED HARD SHOE – Recommended for Levels 4-5, or Prizewinner through Champion level competitors.

COMPETITION PRACTICE SESSIONS

BEG/ADV BEG FEIS CLASS – Recommended for dancers who compete in Beginner or Advanced Beginner competition levels at feiseanna.  Dancers must know their steps!  The class will begin with the soft shoe dances (reels, light jigs and slip jigs), then practice the traditional speed hard shoe dances (treble jigs and hornpipes).

NOV/PW FEIS CLASS – Recommended for dancers who compete in Novice or Prizewinner levels at feiseanna. Dancers must be competing in slow speed hard shoe dances.  (If still dancing the traditional speed steps, such as the “Sock Glues” and the “Cornpipes”, dancer should attend the Beg/Adv Beg class instead.)

CHAMP FEIS CLASS – Recommended for dancers competing in Preliminary or Open Champion levels.

WORKSHOPS

Throughout the year several workshops will be offered for specific dances (such as Figure Dance 2-Hands, 3-Hands, 4-Hands, etc), or for specific Teelin steps (such as Advanced Beginner Treble Jigs, Novice Hornpipes, etc).  Requisite skill level for participation will be specified as each workshop is announced.
