Teelin Irish Dance Company is known for performances that accentuate the energy of Irish dance with envelope-pushing choreography.  From the graceful beauty of jigs and reels, to the thundering beat of percussive dance, a performance by this company leaves audience members at the edge of their seats, wishing for more!

There are three troupes of the company, each comprised of dancers who have been auditioned from the Teelin School of Irish Dance.  Performances may include dancers from a single troupe, or from multiple troupes, and may also include other professional artists.  The versatility of a performance company that is separate from yet associated with an Irish dance school allows for a wide variety of entertainment possibilities.

Director Maureen Gately has extensive training in several dance styles, which enhance her mastery of traditional Irish step dance. Maureen’s experience as a professional dance performer has inspired her to explore creative choreography, thereby eliciting in her dancers a passion for performing. This innovative style also won her the 2009 Individual Artist Award for Dance Choreography presented by the Maryland States Arts Council (MSAC).
