There will be some extra rehearsals scheduled outside of class time for “specialty” pieces. Eligible dancers are encouraged to participate in these opportunities to celebrate unique subsets of our student population! Please use the signup form to indicate your participation in each dance. (These rehearsals are in addition to the dress rehearsals at the theatre. Dress rehearsal schedule will be published in April.)

Important note: All dancers who attend the scheduled extra rehearsal of a specialty dance will participate in a unique choreography section for that dance. Dancers who are unable to attend the extra rehearsal, but who are still available to perform in that dance for the show will only participate in a presentation section of the dace.

TEELIN DUDES
Let’s hear it for the boys! Face it, there are many more girls in Irish dance than there are boys. So we like to take the opportunity at the Teelin Spring Show to celebrate our talented boys.

Costume information is being organized per class, and details will be mailed to each class separately. A summary of student costumes and class performance information will be available at this link once it is updated (password-protected, access for Teelin families only).

IMPORTANT: There will be a “Costumes in Classes Week” (like a dress rehearsal) in all classes except the competition classes the week of Apr 17-20.

Dress Rehearsals will be held at the Jim Rouse Theater on Friday, April 28. Some rehearsals may be held Saturday morning, too.

There will be a finale in each act of each show. Each finale will be rehearsed right before that act, onstage behind the closed curtain. Therefore, Act 1 performers will rehearse their finale before the show starts, and Act 2 performers will rehearse their finale during intermission. Act 2 dancers, if you have a ticket to watch the first half of the show in the theater, then please get backstage and be lined up with your class promptly, because we do not have much time during intermission.

Thanks for asking! 😉 NOTE: Volunteers will receive a pre-sale code good for 2 tickets. You will be able to buy your tickets early before they go on sale to the school.

There are two volunteer signup links listed here: one for backstage class parents, the other for theater assistance.

Backstage Class Parent Request:
A parent volunteer from each Beginner, Beg2, AB/N, N/PW, young champs and young TIDC troupe class is needed to assist backstage. The job entails coming to the Dress Rehearsal on Friday, April 28, and also staying backstage for the show on Saturday, April 29. This person does NOT need to purchase a ticket. They WILL be able to see their child’s dance performance either from the side stage or by going into the audience. Each “class parent” will be asked to keep the class together, help young dancers with costume and shoe issues, line them up to go on stage, and make sure that their parent/guardian picks them up when finished.

Theater Assistance Request:
Additional volunteers are needed to assist with other aspects of the Spring Show, including ushering or program distribution, and backstage scenery help. Follow this link to volunteer for theater assistance – https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d44afad22a02-2023#/

Important – ONLY performers and assigned volunteers are allowed backstage during the Spring Show.

Teelin relies heavily on volunteers for big events like the Spring Show, and we are extremely grateful for your assistance… THANK YOU!!!

Yes, the show will be professionally filmed, and will be available for purchase.

Professional portraits will NOT be offered. Our experience has been that offering pictures during the dress rehearsal takes a lot of time and coordination and often puts the dress rehearsal off schedule. Parents are encouraged to take a class photo with your own camera during the “Costumes in Classes” week.

In general, dancers should arrive by 2:00pm, which is one hour prior to showtime. More information will be sent by email as the event nears…

IMPORTANT: The theater is very strict about no food in the dressing rooms or anywhere backstage, not even small snacks. Water will be provided for dancers backstage.

Young dancers are encouraged to bring a quiet activity for backstage down time.
