Meg Ortel, M.Ed., TMRF, was awarded her teaching certification by An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha in April 2020, and has been an active member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA) since that time.
Meg began her involvement in Irish dance as a parent, then as an adult Irish dancer, and now is thrilled to be sharing her passion for traditional ceili dances, competitive figure choreographies, and traditional set dances by teaching dancers of all ages. Meg also serves as Teelin’s Communications Manager and Webmistress. In addition to her Irish dance interests, she holds a B.A. in French, an M.Ed. in early childhood special education, an RID certification in sign language interpreting, and owns a website development company. While continuing to explore many interests, she’s still deciding what she wants to do when she grows up. Meg and her husband, Scott, have two daughters (both are open champions) and a dog named Dublin.
