Meg Ortel, TMRF

Meg Ortel, M.Ed., TMRF, was awarded her teaching certification by An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha in 2020, and has been an active member of the Irish Dance Teachers Association of North America (IDTANA) since that time.

Meg began her involvement in Irish dance as a parent, then as an adult Irish dancer, and now is thrilled to be sharing her passion for traditional ceili dances, competitive figure choreographies, and traditional set dances by teaching dancers of all ages. Meg also serves as Teelin’s Communications Manager and Webmistress. In addition to her Irish dance interests, she holds a B.A. in French, an M.Ed. in early childhood special education, an RID certification in sign language interpreting, and owns a website development company. While continuing to explore many interests, she’s still deciding what she wants to do when she grows up. Meg, her husband Scott, and their daughters Katie and Ellie (who both danced as open champions) each appreciate the many joys and opportunities they’ve shared because of their connections to Irish music and dancing.
